BARDIC BLESSINGS ON A LOVELY DAY!
What a fantastic day we had at this year's Fourth Annual Bardic Picnic event! The Sun blessed us and a few or four or five hundred more came out to listen to Poets, Singers and Stortellers weave words and a new Bard of Northampton was found in Caroline Hussey Bain who at the last minute felt compelled to enter the contest and stole the crown from the other worthy contenders. As well as the contest local bands and other musicians poets and storytellers from near and far filled the English Garden of Delapre Abbey with wonderful words of Joy!

Bardic Picnic 2011 Is ON!
After months of silence we're back and are happy to announce that the Bardic Picnic returns on Sunday the 24th of July for a third year for what we hope will be another great day of spoken word, music and festival hi-jinks!
Despite government cuts, the Northampton Community Foundation are kindly supporting us for another year with a grant for £1000. Although this is less than previous years, we are going to be pulling out all the stops to try and ensure that this Bardic Picnic is as great a day out as the previous year's, if not better.
Bardic Fund Raiser a Great Success
A big thank you to all involved in and attending last night's bardic fundraiser, 'A Sting in the Tail'!
The evening was, after a slow start, a resounding success, with great performances from Jim-Tom Say?, Enki and a roof raising set from Celtic Rasta down stairs. Also included was a mental but enjoyable 'Raising the Awen' open-mic session upstairs, hosted by Bard of Northampton Joe Bunn and saucy poet Kezzabelle.
'A Sting in the Tail'-Bardic Benefit Gig at Labour Club
In what we hope will be a series of themed fundraiser events at THE LABOUR CLUB, this month’s Raising the Awen is replaced by an evening of dark tinged Scorpionic cabaret and murky mayhem which we have entitled ‘A STING IN THE TAIL!’
