Raising the Awen, Northampton's premier open-mic, spoken word forum for aspiring and established poets, storytellers, acoustic artists and indeed any one with a voice returns this month with an eclectic eclipse special as we eclipse our history to resurrect the ancient Celtic of Spirit of inspiration and put a call out for a new Bard of Northampton.


As per usual we will be opening our doors at the Labour Club, to anyone who wishes to share their poems, stories, songs or just express their hearts on the things that concern them and us, and remember as a local song-writer of some renown once said, 'There is no us and them, there is only us and if you're not fighting then you're part of the problem.'


This month's theme is 'Eclectic Eclipse' . make of that what you will but if nothing else come along to the Labour Club and share your words or just come and listen. Suggested donation £1.


Doors open at 8 and as usual from 6.30ish very reasonably priced beer and vegetarian dinners will be available downstairs in the bar.
