RAISING THE AWEN , the Bardic Chair Northampton's once monthly open-mic forum for the spoken word, stand-up comedy, acoustic music and pretty much anything to do with vocal expression, holds its final event of the year this WEDNESDAY 22nd from 7.30pm, downstairs at THE LABOUR CLUB, CHARLES ST.with a BIJOUX BARDIC BANQUET. As last year we'll be seeing the season in with a Banquet of sorts but this year the meal is optional on a first come first served basis and will consist of a reasonably priced two course vegetarian/vegan Christmas dinner and can be paid for on the night. But otherwise look forward to the usual open-mic mayhem from the talent from within the community and beyond. The suggested theme is NATIVITY-THE RETURN OF THE LIGHTand the suggested dress code is Dickensian or just 'a bit posh'.
