What is a Bard?
1) The Bard is one who teaches and inspires others through the medium of the spoken word; be it through poetry, storytelling or song.
2) The Bard serves only the Truth. Truth here being archetypal; beyond party politics, organised religion and the cultural restrictions of the established order.
3) The Bard’s centre of focus is always the community in which they live.
4) The Bard being non-affiliated to any religion or political party, is free to speak that which is for most unspeakable, name that which others dare not name and satirize corrupt individuals and systems that threaten the community’s holistic sense of well being. The Bard stands outside of their community, to be central not separate to it.
5) The Bard travels outside of normal everyday awareness, to access deeper realms of the imagination and bring back poems, stories and songs, that help constellate new alternative ways of expression and being. Therefore, bringing spiritual and cultural healing to their community, through the POWER OF THE SPOKEN WORD!
